Investing in Education to Prepare Students for Success

At Fluor, we believe that science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education is a foundation for student success. We invest in programs that inspire and prepare students to excel in STEM disciplines and are committed to developing the next-generation workforce; improving teacher effectiveness with an emphasis on STEM student proficiency and persistence; and cultivating youth leadership skills.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math

We invest in higher education and university programs, as well as those benefiting primary and secondary schools. In 2025, Fluor and our employees provided 594,000 hours of STEM training and enrichment to 236,000 K-12 students and teachers by investing in school-based curricular enhancements, outreach, high-quality out-of-school time activities and professional development. Examples include Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville, South Carolina, and Muntinlupa Science High School in the Philippines.

Each year, we pay tribute to the world of engineering by participating in a variety of programs during Engineers Week, including outreach to area schools with hands-on activities; engineering career discussions; and the Fluor Friendly Competition, in which employees challenge each other in a global, company-wide engineering competition.

Global University Sponsorship Program

Through the Global University Sponsorship Program, we sponsor annual grants and scholarships at selected universities with a focus on engineering, construction and business programs. Through these partnerships, our executive teams work with the universities to prepare students for tomorrow’s global and technical workforce.

Several of our GUSP schools participate in Capstone programs led by university professors and Fluor engineers. Capstone is a real-world project designed to bring together all the knowledge undergraduate seniors have accumulated into a final engineering challenge. Fluor’s partnership approach helps prepare students for their first professional career assignment and provides a pipeline of top talent for Fluor’s future needs.
